Who We Are? - All star Electric ltd. - saskatoon - Yxe

All Star Electric started out as a 1 man operation in 1985. A small-time electrical contractor who worked with local builders around Saskatoon. The founder and current President, Marv Deck, decided to take a chance and venture out on his own. He had a family to support and sitting at home wasn't paying the bills. With nothing but a truck and an office in the spare bedroom of his basement, he managed to use previous connections in the trade to lock down odd jobs. In the electrical trade, it doesn't take a whole bunch of work to keep a one-man shop busy, as there are many hats to wear. As more people heard of him, more calls started to come in, and the work began to pile up. Eventually, he had to hire his 1st employee, Cliff (who we lost on November 12th, 2022). The rest is history!

37 years later we are still locally owned and family-operated, serving Saskatoon & the surrounding areas' residential and commercial electrical needs. We are still a fairly small, hands-on operation, focused on our customer's needs, and providing value with every job.

These days at All Star Electric Ltd., we employ anywhere from 8-11 employees and are always on the hunt for talented apprentices and electricians to join our team. Two constants since the early 2000s have been Marv's sons Joel and Cory. 

Joel started in the trade in 2000, but had worked summers as a labourer/gopher helping out where ever he was needed. When Joel is not on-site working, you can find him dealing with customers on current projects, estimating new projects, lining up Gemstone Lights jobs, or updating the social media pages/website. 

Cory started working in the trade back in 2004. He still spends the majority of his time on site, running jobs, but he also is starting to deal more with customers and has been key in securing some of our newer contracts.

We are Saskatoon's original authorized Gemstone Lights dealers, certified Russound Audio installers, certified Lutron Pros, as well as certified Google/Nest Pros.
